10-year-old Mohau is a Provincial Mental Maths Champion

Mohau Moloi, a Grade 4 learner at Tsakani Primary School in Thabong Welkom, has proven that hard work, dedication, and attentive listening to his teachers truly pay off.

The 10-year-old was declared the champion of the Provincial Mental Maths competition, achieving first place out of participants from all five districts of the Free State, each represented by six learners.

The provincial Mental Maths competition took place recently in Parys, Free State, over two exciting days.

Celebrating his achievement, Mohau’s mother, grandmother, and sister joined the school in giving him a hero’s welcome. His maths teacher, Khensani Mukwevho, recognized Mohau’s potential and nurtured his talent, expressing her immense pride in his victory.

In recognition of his outstanding performance, Mohau received coveted prizes, including two certificates, medals, trophies, and a laptop.
