The sheriff of the court on Wednesday, 24 January  attached at least 14 fleet  belonging to Masilonyana Municiplaity in Theunissen, Free State.

The attached fleet includes the yellow fleet, bakkies and mobile toilet. This after the municipality  allegedly failed to settle debts running into millions with a  service provider.

RISE Mzansi Free State Provincial Convenor  Nomsa Marchesi said this was not the first time that the sheriff attaches a fleet from thd ailing municipality.  Rise Mzansi in the Free State has previously mentioned that the troubles of the municipality is allegedly  due to the inability of Mayor Dimakatso Modise to provide proper leadership.

Nomsa Marchesi further said for years, Modise has failed to turn around the tide at municipality and rendered the municipality insolvent and useless, leading to service delivery woes.

“We also recently called for Modise’s resignation, and this affirms our stance on why Modise should be axed as the mayor. If Modise continues to be the mayor of this municipality the situation will continue to deteriorate, and the consequences might be dire for the municipality,” Nomsa Marchesi said.

“We once again call on Premier Mxolisi Dukwana to show Modise the exit door and replace her with a more capable leader. Modise has nothing to offer the people of Masilonyana.”

According to Rise Mzansi. They will continue to monitor the situation at the municipality.
