Mance hands over Phase 2 of Tshireletsong

The Free State Department of Public Works and Infrastructure recently handed the Phase Two Section of the Tshireletsong Children’s Home to the Department of Social Development. The Centre is now ready to service the community of Bloemfontein and Free State.

“We are pleased and appreciate as the Department of Public Works & Infrastructure to see our sister department (Social Development) appreciative of the work rendered by our team of dedicated professionals,” alluded MEC Dibolelo Mance.

“The completion of the phase two section of the Centre has come at the perfect time for us as the Department of Social Development,” said Acting Head of Department Nelisiwe Ntombela.

The Phase Two comprises of office blocks and consultation rooms.  “The delivery of these facilities (offices and consultation rooms) means a lot to us as this will help in the enhancement of rendering the social support service to our clients and members of the Free State at large,” Ntombela added.

MEC Mance expressed her satisfaction on the quality of work executed at the center after conducting a satisfactory walk-about in the yard of the center joined by the Acting Head of Department, Advocate

 Phahlo and senior managers from the two departments. The provision of more consulting rooms will assist on the aspect of privacy when consultation takes place and will foster confidence to the clients when they receive the much needed social support from the team of professionals and social workers from the department of Social Development.

 “It gives us joy and great pleasure to see the completion of Tshireletsong Children’s Home. Our central message is that, the life and social being of the children especially the vulnerable children will be cared for, and this is all made possible through the collective efforts of the two Departments, Public Works & Infrastructure and Social Development.” MEC Mance emphasized.
