The Welkom duo, 2Point1, has celebrated the incredible milestone of their music video for “Stimela” reaching 50 million views on YouTube.

Officially released on 28 January 2023, the video, which features Ntate Stunna and Nthabi Sings, continues to dominate in view counts. 2Point1 shared the news on their Facebook page, recalling that when “Stimela” first hit a million views, one of their followers predicted it would eventually reach 50 million. At the time, they took the prediction lightly.

They admitted that they were simply testing their creativity while working on the song, aiming to create something unique that had never been done in the house music scene.

“We didn’t even spend hours on the song. Everything happened so quickly,” they stated.

The hitmakers of “Sthandwa Saam” highlighted that from the success of “Stimela,” they have received two South African Music Awards, achieved multi-platinum status from RISA (Recording Industry of South Africa), and secured several deals with Netflix SA and MTN South Africa.

Reaching 50 million views on YouTube marks another significant achievement for 2Point1. “Stimela” remains a fan favorite, frequently played at parties and clubs across Africa.

The duo expressed their gratitude to their supporters, thanking them for streaming their music and using it for TikTok challenges. They also encouraged their followers to support other artists from the Free State. You can watch “Stimela” on YouTube.
