Six learners from Phahamisang Primary School, a farm school situated a few kilometres from Lourie Park, received a welcome boost ahead of the South African Schools Choral Eisteddfod (SASCE) national finals after the Lourie Park Men’s Forum donated school uniforms to them on Friday.
The donation comes as the learners prepare to represent both their school and the Free State at the national competition taking place this week. The initiative aims to ensure that the learners are properly dressed and able to participate with confidence and dignity.
According to the chairperson of the Lourie Park Men’s Forum, Lehlohonolo Nyetanyane, the organisation identified the need for assistance after noticing that some learners had to borrow school uniforms to look presentable during the regional phase of the competition.

Nyetanyane highlighted the importance of supporting learners and said this motivated the forum to provide uniforms for all six participants.
“We realised that some of the learners had to borrow uniforms just to look presentable during the rehearsal sessions. Seeing this, we felt compelled to step in and ensure that they could represent their school and the Free State with dignity and confidence,” said Nyetanyane.

The six learners are expected to join schools from across the country at the SASCE national finals, where they will showcase their musical talent while proudly representing Phahamisang Primary School and the Free State.
The donation has been hailed as a gesture of compassion and community spirit, reflecting the Lourie Park Men’s Forum’s commitment to uplifting young people and supporting education in rural communities.
