The 2026 Central Music Awards Nominees were announced at a Media launch event held at the Zone in Bloemfontein on Thursday, 25 June. These awards continue to celebrate exceptional talent in the music industry and have become a significant highlight for Free State artists.
2026 marks 5th year of the awards. Registration for the 2026 leg of the awards opened on 27 February and closed on 27 March.
The ceremony saw the presence of media members, and it aimed to honor local artists while they are still actively creating music. This year’s categories are brimming with skilled nominees who truly deserve recognition. The organizers have partnered with the Free State Music Association to enhance the awards experience.
Scheduled to take place at Old Greys in Bloemfontein, Lehlohonolo Mokoena, one of the awards’ co-founders, stated that this year’s event will be distinctive, featuring a roundtable discussion on music and financial services. This session will provide valuable insights into financial matters for artists.
With competition heating up, several categories promise to showcase some of the biggest names in Free State music. The anticipation is high as the 2026 Annual Central Music Awards aim to not only reward excellence but also elevate the artists from the Free State to new heights.
