The South African Congress for Early Childhood Development Thaba Nchu branch held a fun-filled athletics event for their Day Care Centres on April 23 in Zone 3, Thaba Nchu. This exciting day featured children aged 1-5 years participating in various activities, including running, sack races, and egg races. A total of seven day care centres under the SA Congress took part in the event.
This athletics competition was designed to focus on early childhood development, emphasizing important skills like motor development, hand-eye coordination, and balance. It also aimed to promote healthy competition among young children.

The winners of the day will have the opportunity to represent Thaba Nchu in the regional athletics competition set to take place on May 15 in Botshabelo. Those who excel in Botshabelo will go on to compete in the provincial leg scheduled for May 29 in Parys.
Children who finished in first place received medals, while the overall winning centre, Khulani Pre-School, was awarded a trophy for having the highest number of winning participants.
