Innovative entrepreneurs were awarded on Friday, 12 September, during the IWISA Community Champions held at the Bloemfontein City Hall.
The finalists won district competitions in previous rounds before reaching the finals. DESTEA partnered with IWISA to ensure that deserving SMMEs working with limited resources are supported and given opportunities to grow their businesses and create much-needed job opportunities.
The IWISA No. 1 Community Champions Competition recognises and rewards the unsung heroes driving positive change in their communities. Now in its third year, the competition celebrates social entrepreneurs and purpose-driven SMEs and NPOs tackling societal challenges with innovative, impactful solutions. With R400 000 in cash prizes, plus mentorship, training, and PR opportunities up for grabs, the programme is designed to give these change-makers the tools they need to grow their impact and strengthen their organisations.
