Khanyisile Kolwane (20) from Thaba Nchu started 2025 on a high note with the release of her second book titled “The Unstoppable Nkateko”
Her first book “Tiki the shoemaker” was released in 2022. Both books are children’s books. Khanyi has made a name for herself as a talented young poetess, storyteller and theatre actress.
Her love for reading, writing and performing began at the tender age of 9.
“The Unstoppable Nkateko” tells the story of Nkateko, a young boy, born blind, who doesn’t allow his blindness to stop him from living his best life.
The book takes the reader on a journey of Nkateko’s day-to-day life as he goes to school. His parents guide him with love and care, helping him to navigate the world in his own special way.
“What inspired the book is seeing how beautiful and amazing people living with disabilities are and how they embrace themselves and face the world without fear. The aim of this book is to educate children from a tender age about disabilities,” said Khanyi.
