Feel the excitement—Macufe 2025 has officially begun, and the City of Roses is alive with the Macufe atmosphere. The sun is shining, and spring is here. The Free State is ready to host the Mangaung African Cultural Festival (MACUFE) in a picnic-style setting at the Rose Gardens, along with an array of performances in dance, film, theatre, poetry, and comedy at the Bloemfontein Civic Theatre, PACOFS, and Wesleyan Church.
Scheduled to take place from September 3rd to 7th, this iconic festival is set to entertain revelers with a diverse showcase of artistic genres and a stellar line-up. Approximately 80% of the artists featured will be local talent from the Free State Province, underscoring the festival’s commitment to promoting local artists.

The artistic program is packed with top talent, including A-listers such as Makhadzi, Vusi Nova, Sannere, Thandiswa Mazwai, Serame Sediti, Judith Sephuma, DJ Kwesta, Scotts Maphuma, Mawhoo, Ntate Stunna, Jaziel Brothers, Semito, Press, Soweto Gospel Choir, Ayanda Ntanzi, Puleng March, Jabu Hlongwane, Thinah Zungu, Tshepiso Mpotle, Teboho Moloi, Lebo Sekgobelo, Free State Explosion, Esethu Mngxuma, Ayanda Ntunzi, and many more.
Ntombizanele Sifuba, the MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture, and Recreation, has encouraged patrons to come out in large numbers and participate in this mega festival.
