Moleboheng Kholoane
Moleboheng Kholoane is a true inspiration in her community of Clocolan, Free State, making a significant impact despite living with a disability. She has turned her challenges into a driving force for change, particularly for children with disabilities in her area.
Recognized for her dedication, Moleboheng has teamed up with partners Lekabane Moeketsi and Dineo Matsoso to establish the Mamello Integrated Special Foundation, a non-profit organization (NPO) focused on empowering children and individuals with disabilities through sports.

Their mission addresses urgent social issues, including drug addiction and teenage pregnancy, which are rising concerns in their township. “Sports is dying in our townships, but the issues facing our youth are growing. We want to gather our children away from the streets and engage them in meaningful activities for their future,” she emphasizes.

Currently, the NPO prioritizes sports initiatives, using chess as a primary activity due to its popularity among the children. Recently, they hosted a tournament that drew impressive participation and allowed many children to experience the joy of competition, complete with trophies and medals awarded to the young players.
However, the foundation faces challenges in terms of resources. With only three chessboards available, they struggle to accommodate the growing interest among children in the community. Moleboheng highlights the pressing need for more chessboards and a dedicated space for practice.

“I have my own group of about 20 kids who practice with just one chessboard, and Ausi Dineo works with 25 kids using two boards. We’re really struggling to find funding or donations for additional chessboards, and we would greatly appreciate any support to help us fulfill our mission. We also want to expand our focus to include other sports, such as wheelchair basketball and golf,” Moleboheng shared.
Her commitment to uplifting her community and providing opportunities for all children is commendable. Moleboheng Kholoane is a beacon of hope and progress, inspiring others to join her in making a difference. Thank you for considering support for this vital initiative.
