Kearabetsoe Khotle, a Miss Mangaung Metro finalist, held a “Tea and Girls Talk” event with the learners of Grassland Secondary School in Bloemfontein on Wednesday, March 26th. This campaign is part of Kearabetsoe’s initiative as a finalist for Miss Mangaung Metro.
The goal is to encourage students to focus on their education and make schooling appealing, especially since many young girls in her community drop out of school for various reasons.
“I chose to organize a tea and girls talk because the girls come from diverse backgrounds, and it’s important for them to see and interact with people who have faced similar challenges,” Kearabetsoe explained.

The event featured speakers who highlighted the significance of staying in school and pursuing education. They also discussed important issues such as menstrual health, mental health, the importance of abstaining from drugs, and respecting elders. Guest speakers included Lucky Sebego from the Shosholoza Foundation, Tshenolo Mashoai, a final year student at the University of the Free State, and Chief Leeuw, the organizer of Miss Mangaung.
Other attendees were Venda Boy from Radio BBT, Neo Phothane, Kamogelo Mlozana, Rose Thabana, Katleho Jane, and Bucks Monate.
