While many people write books to tell stories and educate, Masentle Fetsela from Botshabelo has a deep passion for the world of letters. She began writing in 2010 and has since completed 30 unpublished books over her 14-year writing journey.
From a young age, Masentle was fascinated with reading and writing. Her high school teacher often asked her to read aloud to her classmates and narrate what she had read. This experience built her confidence and inspired her to pursue writing.
When she holds a pen, Masentle sees it as a catalyst for expression, allowing her to tell a story to the best of her ability, pouring her heart into every word.

“Writing helps me organize and clarify my thoughts. Putting my thoughts down in words helps me make sense of them,” she emphasized.
With the support of her friend Zimkhitha Ntshingane, the Botshabelo-based writer now has four children’s books published. Three of these books are already available, and the fourth is set for release in January.

Masentle credits Pumla Manju, a great teacher, with teaching her everything about the artistic industry.
“Writing brings all hidden emotions to paper and has opened doors I never thought I could,” Masentle reiterated.
Her books are available from Umnotho Enterprises.
