Thaba Nchu tap and clap gospel choir Bathehi Artist Development are back with a bang with the release of their sophomore gospel album “Kena le Modisa, makhona tsohle”.

Last year, they scooped a Free State Gospel Music Award for Clap and Tap Choir of the Year and their first album did well and earned them praise from all corners of Free State.

The Ratau-based choir is spearheaded by Zongezile Lemoen and consists of 90% youth and was formed in 2009 by Rose Lemoen. The choir started with only 15 members and has ballooned to 89 currently, ranging from ages 12-29 years.

In 2010, the Tap and Clap Choir performed at the Macufe Art Gospel show which they consider as one of their major highlights.

Bathehi Artist Development’s first album was recorded in 2021 and titled “Uthando”. In June 2023, the choir hosted the popular Barorisi Ba Morena and aims to continue hosting other major Tap and Clap choirs.
