Lucky Koalepe’s passion for radio led him to move from his hometown of Edenville in the Free State to work at Mosupatsela FM in Botshabelo.

He is a Sports Presenter on the “Ha Diwele Afternoon Drive” show, where he reads and delivers sports news.

At just 10 years old, Lucky, known by his stage name Malucken, fell in love with radio. He was inspired by listening to Phelane Sothoane and Skuzabela, who became his radio idols. The influence of Phelane and Skuzabela deepened Lucky’s affection for the radio world.

After completing his Matric at Ngwathe Secondary School, he attended Flavious Mareka TVET College in Kroonstad.

Lucky began his career as a radio presenter in 2021 at Metsimaholo FM in Sasolburg, where he hosted the Saturday show from 9 AM to 12 PM. In April 2024, he joined Mosupatsela FM as a sports presenter on the “Ha Diwele Afternoon Drive.”

He expressed his enthusiasm: “Working in radio is something I’ve always wondered when it would happen. I’m really happy to be doing what I love.”

According to Lucky, the absence of a radio station in his hometown was an obstacle, but it did not deter him from pursuing his dream of being behind the mic.

As a young boy, he and his friends used to record themselves impersonating their favorite radio presenters, which further fueled his desire to be on air.

Currently residing in Bloemfontein, Lucky aims to grow in the entertainment industry and aspires to work for a national radio station in the future. For now, he focuses on building his media profile.
