Wepener Beauty Queen aims higher 27-year-old Mathapelo Princess Atoro from Qibing in Wepener, Free State, is determined to make her mark in the pageantry world.
Mathapelo is passionate about women empowerment and dedicates her efforts to helping others, especially encouraging women and young girls to embrace their individuality and pursue their dreams.
Her journey in pageantry began in 2020 when she participated in Miss Philanthropy Africa and emerged as the winner. This achievement further ignited her passion for pageantry. In 2024, she competed in Miss Unity South Africa, where she reached the finalist stage.
“I firmly believe that beauty isn’t just how a girl or woman looks; it encompasses her heart, her inner beauty, strengths, compassion, confidence, and her ability to be fearlessly herself,” Mathapelo emphasized.
Being involved in pageantry has significantly boosted Mathapelo’s confidence and made her more fearless. She is now unafraid to advocate for herself and others.
“This journey isn’t just mine; I want it to resonate with every girl who feels unheard or doesn’t see herself as beautiful or confident based on others’ standards. I want them to reflect in my journey and understand that they belong and can be the best version of themselves,” she stated.
Mathapelo is set to attend the grand finale of Miss Unity South Africa in March, proudly representing Free State.
