Mosa Mokalobe is making South Africa Proud as she is representing the country and the Free State at the AFS Intercultural Programs in Brazil. This initiative aims to provide intercultural learning opportunities, helping people develop essential skills for creating a more just and peaceful world.
At just 16 years old, Mosa, a student at Trio High School in Kroonstad, has embarked on this exciting journey to conduct research on important topics, choosing to focus on Zero Hunger, Responsible Consumption, and Good Health and Well-Being.
Her interest in agriculture has driven her passion, as she believes in the power of backyard farming to improve food security for families.
“I want to encourage people to do backyard farming so that they are able to feed their families,” she shared, emphasizing her firsthand experience on her family’s farm.
In addition to her agricultural pursuits, Mosa has excelled in other areas, having represented the Free State at the South African Junior Closed Chess Championships.
Although she is still exploring her future career options, Mosa has a keen interest in numbers and is considering becoming a Chartered Accountant or an Actuary.
