The people of Free State have shown their love for Bafana Bafana during the SA vs Zimbabwe match that took place on Tuesday, 11th June at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.

The stadium was packed with soccer fans, creating an electrifying atmosphere as they rallied behind Bafana Bafana, who won the match 3-1 against Zimbabwe.

The support from Siwelele supporters has been trending on social media, showcasing the strong desire of the Free State people to witness Bafana Bafana play in their hometown.

The fans remained enthusiastic throughout the 90+ minutes, cheering on the national team and celebrating each time Bafana scored. Videos and pictures from the match went viral on social media, reflecting the rarity of Bafana Bafana playing in a fully packed stadium.

Bafana’s return to Free State Stadium, where they last played in Bloemfontein in 2010 during the World Cup and won 2-1 against France, has reignited the passion for soccer in the region.

South Africans are now urging SAFA (South African Football Association) to consider hosting the remainder of Bafana Bafana’s World Cup 2026 Qualifying matches in Free State due to the overwhelming support shown by the people.

The love for Bafana and the passionate support for soccer by the people of Free State continues to make headlines, casting a positive spotlight on Bloemfontein.
