Free State Premier Mxolisi Dukwana will deliver his second State of the Province Address (SOPA) on Thursday 29 February since being appointed Premier in 2023.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) Free State Premier Candidate Roy Jankielsohn said for the second time, they expect to hear more political rhetoric and empty promises.
Jankielsohn added that the Premier should instead use his SOPA to tell the people of the Free State what he is going to do about the poor road network, unemployment, especially youth unemployment, the decay of healthcare facilities, and the electricity crisis affecting the lives and livelihoods of residents.
“The electricity crisis is ravaging the agricultural, tourism, and other economic sectors and requires a response from the Premier. The Free State is ideally placed, sharing borders with six other provinces, creating huge economic growth and job creation potential, which the ANC has failed to tap into for over 30 years. The DA has developed a Ready to Govern plan, which will harness the province’s potential and ensure the property of our residents.” Said Jankielsohn.
