Lemo Fest exceeds expectations

The 2024 edition of the Lemo Fest lived up to its hype and exceeded all expectations. The festival has raised the bar very high and event organizers have a lot to do, to try to catch up with the high standard set by the festival organizers.

The dome, or the Kasi Dome as it is dubbed (Lemo Green Park), where the event was taking place was a hive of activities, filled with excitement, and patrons had the time of their lives.

The venue is state of the art, the toilets are clean and the are cleaners on standby making sure that toilets are super clean and hygienic.

From entering the tunnel of fame, you are immersed in the spirit of the Lemo Fest as you are bound to take those Instagram photos to prove you were part of history in the making.

Afro-Globe kick-started the festival, people adhered to the theme of wearing jeans and looking ravishing. The show was incredible with artists bringing their A-game to entertain patrons and giving them more than their money’s worth.

If Lemo was a person, it would be Morda because his energy electrified the dome. His dance moves are one of a kind that will make one want to be an amapiano/house dancer. Afro-Globe kickstarted the event on a zenith note.

Ma-2000 were not left out as they filled the Kasi dome to capacity, enjoying hit tunes from Ntate Stunna, Sannere, Mr. JazziQ, and Stino le Thwenny to mention a few.

Who could forget local talent like BlaqZicco and Stige Lebaka? The Bloemfontein lads shook the stage and proved that local is more than lekker. Yanos-Hip Hop ended in the wee hours of the morning because of the fun people had.

Gospel Experience was a killer show, unmatched, Dressed in all-white, patrons were ready to praise and worship. Dumi Mkokstad, Benjamin Dube, Ayanda Ntanzi, and the incredible Lebo Sekgobela brought worship alive and electrified the venue with gospel music.

Lovers were not left out as the Lovers and Friends show brought love into the air. Nathi, Sjava, Big Zulu, Jaziel Brothers, and Musa took lovers and couples down memory lane with hits such as Nomkhitha, She is the One, Nomvula, and more.

The oldies and jazz lovers enjoyed the Gin and Jazz show which had Mafikizolo, Samthing Soweto, Bhudaza, Sipho Hotstix Mabuze, Nomfudo Moh, and Mandisi Dyantyis.

Entrepreneurship is important in stimulating growth and creating jobs, the Lemo Fest SMME Expo brought renowned business legends such as Vusi Thembekwayo, DJ Sbu, Sheldon Tatchell, and more to Bloemfontein.

Who can forget about fashion, we all love clothes and looking elegant. The fashion show is the last Lemo Fest show to set your eyes on, taking place on 18 October.

The exciting thing about the festival was the surprise acts the shows had, the likes of Ntokozo Mbambo, Cassper Nyovest, and President ya strata. Focalistic.

Lemo Fest definitely raised the bar way high. The queues were fast, no complaints from people about standing for hours to get in. All went smoothly and the organizers outdid themselves. Kudos to the Lemo Fest organizers.
