The Free State Music Association has welcomed the appointment of Ntobizanele (Zanele) Beauty Sifuba as the new MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture, and Recreation.
Sifuba was one of the nine (9) MECs announced by Premier Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae on Thursday 20 June in Bloemfontein. Sifuba takes over the reins from Limakatso Mahasa who left the department under a dark cloud following her alleged suspension by the then premier Mxolisi Dukwana.
The Association has welcomed and congratulated Sifuba, saying they trust that she will deliver the necessary support and work with all stakeholders in the sector.

“As the program-based organization whose mandate is to develop and create opportunities for musicians in the Free State, we hope to engage with her and share our vision for the Free State music industry. We trust and believe she’s the right person for the department and will bring necessary changes like she did in her previous role as the speaker of the provincial legislature.” Said Mzwakhe Khachela, the Free State Music Association Secretary.
The association has made a clarion call to artists in the music industry to assist and make the job of the MEC easy by giving her the necessary support and guidance.
