Pontsho Excellent Naile (39) appeared before Bethlehem Magistrates’ Court on Monday 23 October on charges of corruption. He was granted R2000 bail. Naile was arrested in Bethlehem on Friday, 20 October by the Hawks from Bloemfontein and Bethlehem for corruption.
The arrest follows after a complainant, who owns trucks, reported to the Hawks that Naile persistently harasses his drivers, demanding money.
Naile allegedly pulled off the complainant’s truck for inspection and issued the driver with a traffic fine. He demanded that the driver pay him an amount of R1200 for him not to impound the truck.
He was arrested during an operation while in possession of the entrapment money in his vehicle. He will be back in Court on 6 December.
