Stephen Sipho Guzana from Kwakwatsi in Koppies brought smiles to the learners of Ipatleleng Primary School in Koppies, Free State.
Stephen donated twenty pairs of school shoes, some trousers, and shirts to Ipatleleng. He usually buys between 2-3 pairs but decided to go the extra mile and buy 20 pairs.
Stephen said while driving, he saw girls going to school wearing torn school shoes and he was so moved he decided to reach out and help. Growing up, life was not easy for him and instead of folding his arms, he used his money to help.
Stephen believes that the gesture to the school will boost self-confidence in the learners and give them peace of mind knowing they don’t have to worry about school shoes and will focus 100% on learning.
“I’m not involved in any community projects, but I donate on my own if I see something. This project of giving shoes, I do it every year, I don’t regard it as a project but my own thing” Stephen said.
