Bothaville duo, Geshlido are making waves with their music. Their hit single “Hamba Nami” is currently setting the airwaves ablaze. The song features one of Mzansi’s finest, MusiholiQ.
Geshlido is made up of Fikile Mogorosi and Leseilane Leshoro from Bothaville in the Free State. They don’t limit themselves to one specific genre of music but prefer to experiment with various sounds.
The duo met at a young age and have been friends since grade 2. Their love for music united them, they were inspired by the likes of HHP (Hip Hop Pantsula) Bongo Muffin, Mafikizolo, Tear Gas, and Zola 7.
Gheshlido has an album out, self-titled with 10 tracks. Four of their singles have been released under Tronix Entertainment owned by Troy Mosiwa.
The music video for “Hamba Nami” is playing on TV channels such as Channel O, MTV Base, Soweto TV, and Free State TV.
Talking about Hamba Nami, the duo said the song is a love song made to remind people that true love still exists.
Hailing from the dusty streets of Kgotsong in Bothaville had its challenges as there were no recording studios and successful people whom they could look up to as role models in music.
“We want to promote Bothaville in our music because it’s our hometown, we were born and bred there so we want to pave the way for other upcoming artists, and those who want to pursue their talents.” Said the duo.
Their first music video was shot in Bothaville, showcasing homemade clothing brands and businesses.
“We are currently busy on a few projects with DJ Zaca at Penya Play Records, we are working on our second album which is going to shake the whole world. We have few features lined up with big names, we have three more music videos we’re going to shoot.” Geshlido explained.
The name Geshlido is the combination of their stage names; Magesh and Lit Dog. Their music is available on digital platforms.
