Being behind the decks and entertaining fun lovers might be seen as male-dominated, but lately, females have taken to being deejays like duck to water and one of them is Pulane “Maspuly” Tsoeu.
Maspuly as she is affectionally known is fast becoming one of the most sought after RnB, Soul, and Afro-pop deejays locally.
Whenever she is behind the decks, she goes the extra mile to ensure people enjoy her set. Maspuly resides in Phase 10 in Bloemfontein, she started as a master of ceremonies for a long time but her love for music took the better of her and led her to become a DJ.
Maspuly credits DJ Kabza Viper (real name Kabelo Moorosi) from Peter Swaarts in Bloemfontein who took her under his wing and showed her the ropes.
“I am always willing to learn and after every gig, I look at where I made mistakes and I ask other DJs to help me correct my mistakes and help me improve.” Said Maspuly.
According to the Phase 10 DJ, one needs to aim high and go after their dreams, and be willing to work hard.
Maspuly advises women who want to be female DJ’s to love music, and should never allow themselves to be undermined. She calls on them to not chase fame but to do it for the love of music.
