Thato Mofokeng from Golden Gate, is a grade 9 learner at Bethlehem Voortrekker Hoër Skool in Free State. Thato is an aspiring public speaker and media personality.
Thato’s interests are public speaking, debating, and poetry. Her journey began when she was given opportunities to address children and parents during prize giving at Clarens Primary School.
Her journey grew in 2024 when she received an A+ for prose, A for bible prose, A++ for unprepared reading, B for poetry, B+ for dramatized poetry and B+ for creative writing. All these took place at the Eisteddfod in Bethlehem.
In addition, Thato received a certificate from her school after obtaining an A in public speaking and an A+ for prose at the Radikaal Redenaars, which is online. Thato aspires to be a radio presenter, an activist and a lawyer.
“I receive inspiration from Dineo Ranaka and Unathi because they are very vocal and they are not afraid of sharing their opinions and thoughts. I am extremely excited to be given the opportunity to be the Mc at the Clarens Spelling Bee Competition as I believe
that it will improve my articulation skills and confidence,” concluded Thato.
