Growing up, radio has always been a part of her family life, Lesedi FM was the radio of choice in her household.
Lesedi FM birthed an interest in Refilwe Mojahi to be a radio newsreader. She is a newsreader at Kgolagano FM, an Online Radio Station in Thaba Nchu, Free State.
Refilwe looked up to Matjama Sekgwane and Borentsi Mooko, SABC’s former Sesotho newsreaders. Seipati “Twasa” Seoke is also her idol.
Informing her community about what’s happening is also what made Refilwe want to be a newsreader. Before going on air, Refilwe does research, she reads a lot of newspapers, and magazines and listens to other radio stations.
“What I love about being a newsreader is the ability to inform my community about what’s happening in their area and other parts of the world” Refiwe added.
She credits her family for their support and allowing her to follow her passion for radio.
