Siwelele FC have bolstered their attacking options ahead of the business end of the Betway Premiership season with the signing of experienced winger Mahlatse “Skudu” Makudubela and the return of Free State-born wide man Maloisane Patrick Mokhele.
The two new additions were confirmed in late January 2026 as the Bloemfontein-based outfit continues to reshape its squad in a bid to improve consistency and attacking depth.
Makudubela Brings Experience and Versatility
Veteran winger Mahlatse Makudubela has returned to South African football after signing for Siwelele FC on a free transfer following his spell in Angola with Wiliete Sport Clube de Benguela.
The 35-year-old, affectionately known as “Skudu” or “Baby Rico”, is one of the most travelled players in African football, having represented no fewer than 15 clubs across South Africa, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Angola.
Makudubela, born on 10 March 1990, is primarily a left winger but is equally comfortable on the right flank or operating as a second striker. Standing at 1.70 metres, his experience, creativity, and football intelligence are expected to add value both on and off the pitch as Siwelele navigate a demanding league campaign.

Mokhele Returns Home Under Familiar Leadership
Meanwhile, Siwelele have also secured the services of Maloisane Patrick Mokhele, who joins the club on a deal until the end of the season.
Mokhele, 29, makes his return to South African football after a short stint in Botswana with Matebele FC, where he joined in August 2025 following his departure from Magesi FC midway through the 2024/25 season.
The Bothaville-born winger reunites with head coach Lehlohonolo Seema, a factor believed to have played a key role in his decision to sign for the club. Mokhele is known for his pace, direct attacking style, and versatility, capable of playing on either wing or as an attacking midfielder.
Boost for Siwelele’s Attacking Depth
The arrival of Makudubela and Mokhele provides Siwelele FC with much-needed depth and variety in wide areas, blending experience with energy as the club looks to stabilise its performances in the Betway Premiership.
With both players already familiar with the demands of top-flight football, Siwelele supporters will be hopeful that the duo can make an immediate impact as the season reaches a crucial phase.
