In a heartwarming display of compassion and community spirit, the St. Mark Youth Collective launched a Homeless Drive on Human Rights Day. Embracing the spirit of Ubuntu, these selfless youths took to the streets of Bloemfontein, bearing gifts of nourishment and kindness.
The group, comprised of dedicated young individuals from the local church, visited Hoffman Square and Small Street, areas known for their homeless populations. They distributed food to those in need, a gesture that goes beyond mere sustenance; it’s a reminder that love and humanity extend to all corners of society.
This initiative, which is part of their Lenten almsgiving, is rooted in the belief that the act of giving is not just about charity, but about recognizing the inherent dignity in every person.
“We often forget that those who have the least among us are in dire need of not just food, but also love and recognition. Today, we remember that they, too, are human and deserving of our care,” said Rorisang Rampheteng.
