At the age of 10, Orefemetse Mokunyane, now 20, fell in love with writing, which she describes as her talent. A passionate poet from Zone 2 in Thaba Nchu, she explains that poetry feels like a friend she has been searching for.
Whenever she holds a pen, she experiences a sense of solace and happiness. She has recently published her debut book titled “Words Never Said, Letters Never Found.”
Orefemetse expresses that she is learning and maturing each day as a poet and writer. Her new book is a collection of poetry created while she battled depression and anxiety.

“The book captures the intensity of feelings such as loneliness, hatred, anger, and regret that accompany struggles with mental health,” Orefemetse said.
“It illustrates why some people may resort to escapism methods like substance abuse and self-harm.”
With her new book, Orefemetse aims to provide healing, comfort, hope, and love. She aspires to become a literary giant and hopes to see her writings influence the television industry, believing she is laying a solid foundation one step at a time. Orefemetse is already working on her next book. The poetry book is available for purchase at R220 per copy.
