His massive hit, Ntata-rona took South Africa by storm, playing on radio, cars, smartphones and Bluetooth speakers.  Tiktok catapulted it to national stardom and it became a symbol of hope and inspiration on social media.

The man behind the smash hit that continues to be requested during his performances is Teboho Moruti, a talented yet humble man from Botshabelo in the Free State. Last year, he made his presence felt at  Macufe 2023 and reprised it again at the recently held Lemo Fest.

Teboho might be a talented gospel star but what people might not know is that he was once a Kwaito artist in 1991 and ventured full time into gospel in 2003 and never looked back.

He has two albums under his name, and has also collaborated with budding Botshabelo legend Zweli “MC Fire” Mphumele on “Hale Bokwe”.

Teboho told Free State World that gospel music connects him with God Almighty and heals souls.

Relishing the Lemo Fest experience, the Botshabelo based star said  “The Lemo Fest was a great experience, it felt like a dream, very surreal and it was indeed a dream come true for me to share the stage with amazing artists and showcase the talent I am blessed with.”

The Ntata-rona hit maker advises those who want to be gospel singers to pray before anything, rehearse a lot, whether with a band or on their own and to respect their craft.

“They must be patient and also believe in themselves.”

Teboho plans to shoot a live performance video next year.
