Rise Mzansi’s leader, Songezo Zibi, took his campaign trail to the Free State, where he engaged with the Matjhabeng (Welkom) and Botshabelo Communities during the party’s two-day (24-25 April) tour.
Addressing the communities, Zibi stated that his party is ready to introduce new leaders who will serve the people instead of stealing from the public purse.
He reiterated that promises have been made but not fulfilled, and there has been a failure of local, provincial, and national governments.

Zibi spoke to the media in Matjhabeng, stating that they always mobilize people around local issues and have conversations with them. He further added that his party has been growing in the Free State and has recruited volunteers and continues to grow by leaps and bounds.
Addressing a packed Nicro Hall, Zibi said that there is no freedom while people are in bondage, poverty, unemployment, drugs, crime, and without hope, and there is nothing to celebrate.
He added that Rise Mzansi aims to ensure that democracy works for all people, and there is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
Zibi also said that Rise Mzansi promises to take drug addicts to rehab and give them skills, believing that people cannot be ignored and left to suffer. He concluded that they need new leaders, and their manifesto is a people’s manifesto, adding that South Africans will tell them when to go as they are here to serve them.
